An image from the book!

At long last I can post an image that will appear shortly in the book. It is currently on schedule for the end of August/beginning of September.

It is a piece of Nuvo Felt, and approximately 46cm (18 ins) square.

Nuvo Felt is made using viscose fibres. The name derives from the fact that the technique is new and made from viscose.

Further details of the book, which will cover several other techniques for using the Embellisher machine too., will appear here as soon as they are available.

An evening with the Embellisher

If you would like a talk with a difference for your group you may like to consider this.

After an introductory talk and demonstration there is a chance for everyone (depending on numbers) to have a go! It is a fun evening (or morning or afternoon) and has so far been enjoyed by all who have taken part.

Send me an email if you would like forther information.

Hard going

Why is it that 'life' just gets in the way? I am pleased to say that my book is finally finished and is just about off to the Editor. Hopefully I will now have more time for posts, too!

I can't make up my mind.

I am always amazed at the different effects created by my wonderful machine. These 2 photographs are of the same piece of work. The top shows the back of the work

and the next one shows the front, both scanned at the same point of working.

The lower scan shows all the threads that I have laid down and then embellished. The back is grey felt, there is none visible in either picture. I think I am drawn to the more sublte upper picture, but then .............!

Which one do you prefer?

Just a sample

This is just to whet your appetites! It is a small sample of Nuvo Felt, just waiting to be further embellished with stitching. I'm a bit disappointed with the depth of colour in the picture, if I can improve it I will replace it at a later date.

The Embellisher

My life as a textile artist changed completely when I discovered this machine. Hopefully you too will enjoy the journey as I discover still more things to do on the machine.
